DE&I in the Creative Industry
Capital C
Weesperplein 4B, Amsterdam
‘Driving equity and increasing accessibility in the creative industry.’ Come and join us for an inspirational afternoon with Frank Starling, chief DEI officer at Cannes Lions and Kerrie Finch, founder of the FINCH factor.
‘When people see themselves represented in the media and in culture, they feel seen and heard. We also have evidence that creative work, when developed through the lens of representation, is more impactful and leads to better commercial results. It’s now an accepted truth: Everyone stands to gain from systemic change that shines a light on the lived experiences of underrepresented and underserved audiences. Yet a paralysing fear of making the wrong decision and the need for more informed cultural intelligence have overcomplicated the journey towards improving diversity in creative work. As an industry, we all need to work together to rise to the challenge, to build a greater understanding of our perception gaps and biases, and to take action to show up for the communities we serve.’
